Luciano Spalletti has named his final 26-man squad for the EURO 2024 tournament, cutting Riccardo Orsolini, Samuele Ricci and Ivan Provedel.
He had originally called up 30 players for the Coverciano training camp last week, but immediately lost defenders Francesco Acerbi and Giorgio Scalvini to injury.
Juventus man Federico Gatti was added to the group a couple of days ago and is in the final list going to Germany.
Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel has been sent home, largely because he struggled with injury during the final months of the season.
Bologna winger Orsolini did not impress in the friendly 0-0 draw with Turkey and Torino midfielder Ricci was always an alternate.
However, there is a suggestion that Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret is not in the best shape either, so Provedel is still on pre-alert until the competition kicks off for Italy.
The Azzurri are in Group B along with Spain, Croatia and Albania as they defend their status as reigning Champions of Europe.
Other players who were injured before the Italy call-ups include Destiny Udogie, Domenico Berardi and Nicolò Zaniolo.

Only Milan can be blamed for no Milan players in squad. Pobega was benched whole season. Was he so bad than the starters? Gabbia was brought back only for the second half. Milan over the years kept selling talented Italian players like Tonali, Locatelli, Cutrone to name a few rather then making them blub legends like in the past.
Who made the choice of flouronsho over miretti, this looks like it setup for failure.
How did they leave politano out. He left orsolini out for not impressing the whole team was horrible

Only the Italian world cup winners in 1934 and 1938 have won back to back tournaments. Hopefully it might change!
italy will not win a world cup again unless they the srutuer of ther youth system i hope they dont leave early in this tournement i wish them well

Orsolini out is a bizarre choice.
Don’t understand calling Fagioli. I don’t care at all about his betting. But he only played 2 matches the whole season. I feel it is unfair to other players like Locatelli. Folorunsho hasn’t played a single min for National team yet. Should have kept Orsolini instead..
