According to Diario Olé, UEFA and Conmebol are considering organizing a friendly between Italy and Argentina but must find a spot in a busy fixture list.

The Azzurri beat England on penalties at Wembley Stadium to win UEFA Euro 2020, just hours after Argentina’s Copa America triumph in the Final against Brazil.

Argentinean paper Olé has suggested playing the ‘International Supercup Final’ between the two sides in 2022, given that the Confederations Cup won’t take place.

The idea is to organize the friendly at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, either in Buenos Aires or Naples.

Italy and Argentina are the countries that embody the life and career of the Napoli legend who died in November 2020, aged 60.

According to the report, UEFA and Conmebol are reportedly discussing organizing the event, although the busy fixture list could prevent the match from taking place.

The 2022 World Cup will be played in Qatar in December and there could not be slots available to organize the match between Italy and Argentina.
