Vincenzo Italiano remains confident Dusan Vlahovic will keep delivering for Fiorentina, regardless of the contract situation, as they visit Venezia.

It kicks off on Monday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT) at the Stadio Penzo.

Vlahovic continued his excellent scoring run on international duty with Serbia, but his rapport with the club remains tense after refusing to sign a new contract.

“Dusan is relaxed, he returned really fired up by the three goals he scored and the wins achieved with Serbia,” assured the coach in his press conference.

“We mustn’t let ourselves be influenced by anything. I have been clear on Dusan, this is between him and the club, I am only interested in what he can give me on the pitch. Vlahovic has remarkable hunger and I can only hope he continues like that.

“Considering the number of chances we create, especially in the first half against Napoli and Udinese, we ought to be more clinical.”

That is a problem that Venezia have also suffered from this season following their promotion from Serie B.

“Venezia are starting to gain the confidence that they belong in this division, looking more solid in recent games and dangerous on the counter. That is the aspect we must be wary of.”
