Vincenzo Italiano will reportedly continue with Fiorentina following today’s meeting with the club’s management, despite Napoli’s interest in appointing him as the replacement for Luciano Spalletti.

Spalletti has already confirmed his decision to leave the Partenopei, wanting to take a sabbatical year following his historic success in the Campania capital, guiding the club to their third ever Scudetto.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is now on the hunt for Spalletti’s replacement and one of the reported favourites is Italiano, who has done well with Fiorentina following his arrival in June 2021, guiding them to the Europa Conference League final.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, today’s meeting between Italiano and Fiorentina’s management went well, with the coach satisfied with the project and plans for the upcoming season.

Despite the disappointment in Prague, the 45-year-old Italian coach will now move forward with the Viola, seemingly ruling him out of the job at Napoli.
