Both teams arrive desperate for points on Saturday and with only one point from their last three games.

“It’s an important game, where we will try in every way to get the three points up for grabs,” Italiano said at a press conference.

“We want to show the desire in the best way a difficult threesome of matches.

“All the games have great value for us, all we have to do is to improve the mistakes we made in the last period and reinforce what we have done so far.”

Benevento won both legs in Serie B last term, when the two side won promotion, but Spezia responded with a 3-0 win in the first Serie A meeting at the Stadio Vigorito.

“The first leg is now behind us, many days have passed and everything has another value.

“We respect Benevento a lot, a team that has great qualities. I want to see the same concentration of the ‘Vigorito’, we prepared it well, despite the few days available.

Italiano said he didn’t have enough time to know what to expect from Filippo Inzaghi’s men tomorrow.

“I don’t know what Benevento to expect, because having had little time to prepare for the match, we focused more on ourselves.

“We know we are facing a team with players of great value for Serie A, who have always offered excellent performances.

“We will have to try to play the game ourselves.”

Spezia are five points above the relegation zone and Italiano stressed they have an ‘eterny’ left of the current campaign.

“From here to the end, there are 13 games left, which are an eternity. There are still many points available and whoever loses will not be doomed.

“Spezia will have to face it with the right competitive energy, it’s an important match, but I repeat, it’s not the last of this championship.”
