Vincenzo Italiano gives injury updates on Lucas Beltran and Rolando Mandragora, as Fiorentina try to end their negative streak against Bologna.

It kicks off at the Stadio Franchi on Sunday at 14.00 GMT.

The Viola put themselves top of the Europa Conference League group thanks to Thursday’s 1-0 win away to Serbians Cukaricki.

However, they have been struggling in Serie A with three consecutive defeats, all of them without finding the back of the net.

“It would be important to get back to winning ways. We always reacted to setbacks in the past, we overturned a poor start in the Conference League and now we want an important result in Serie A too,” Italiano told the official Fiorentina website.

Beltran was already missing on Thursday in Europe and is out of the squad again due to that injury, so M’Bala Nzola is expected to lead the way once more.

Michael Kayode, Dodo and Gaetano Castrovilli are also on the treatment table.

Rolando Mandragora went off with a knee injury during the final minutes of that Cukaricki match, so while he is in the squad to face Bologna, he is unlikely to start.

“Beltran tried, but he still feels pain, while we need to evaluate Mandragora. We are fired up and convinced we can get back to winning ways in Serie A. Tomorrow is too important to get it wrong again,” added Italiano.

The recent poor results have seen Fiorentina leapfrogged by Bologna in the table, albeit by only one point.

“Bologna are a revelation in Serie A this season, they are doing so well and play really interesting football. They are on form, feeling confident and it will be difficult, but we intend to get points.”
