Italiano: ‘Fiorentina won’t think about Juventus against Sassuolo’

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano insists La Viola won’t shift attention to the Coppa Italia semi-finals against Juventus before facing Sassuolo tomorrow: ‘They have the quality to beat us.’

La Viola will visit the Mapei Stadium tomorrow at 19.45 UK Time. On Wednesday, they face Juventus and their ex-striker Dusan Vlahovic in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals on Wednesday.

“We can’t afford to not be fully focused on tomorrow’s game,” Italiano said at a press conference.

“We’ll face a talented and strong team. They play real football, with great quality and an excellent coach. They can beat us if we don’t face the game in the right manner. We must only focus on Sassuolo. We’ll think about Juventus from tomorrow night.

“We always need great quality and great determination every time, like in the reverse fixture against Sassuolo.

“Every day we learn and improve, we never stop improving, I changed, I’m growing on many levels, on the pitch, on communication, and many other things,” he added.

Will Krzysztof Piatek once again start over Arthur Cabral?

“Piatek has the edge over Cabral because he arrived a few days earlier,” the coach said.

“He knows the league and the language. He was smart to make the most of this knowledge.

“Cabral is working well and really hard, but another striker is scoring consistently. The right moment comes for everyone. He is still young. He will show his worth once he settles in.”
