Italian media name most disappointing Milan players in 2-2 draw against Salernitana

Italian sports papers point the finger at Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao after Milan‘s 2-2 draw against strugglers Salernitana, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek received mixed ratings.

The Rossoneri were held to a 2-2 draw by Salernitana on Friday and are now just five points above fifth-placed Bologna but Thiago Motta’s side have a game in hand.

Italian sports papers analysed Milan’s draw at the Stadio Arechi on Saturday giving low ratings to most Rossoneri players.

According to Gazzetta, Theo Hernandez and Loftus-Cheek were the most disappointing ones, as both got 4.5/10.

Maignan and Ismael Bennacer had the lowest ratings on Corriere dello Sport (5) but the goalkeeper failed to impress Tuttosport too, receiving 4.5/10 from the Turin-based paper.

The France international was seen as guilty for Antonio Candreva’s goal in the second half as he conceded at the near post.

Rafael Leao received low ratings, too: 5 from Gazzetta and Tuttosport and 5.5 from Il Corriere dello Sport. The Portuguese star hasn’t scored in Serie A since September.

Loftus-Cheek divided opinions as La Gazzetta rated him 4.5, but Corriere and Tuttosport gave him 6/10.

All Italian sports papers agreed that Fikayo Tomori was Milan’s best player in Salerno. The English centre-back scored his third goal this season in the first half but was subbed off due to an injury after the break.
