Former Real Madrid midfielder Isco has reportedly been offered to Roma as a possible replacement for Nicolo Zaniolo.
The Giallorossi are hoping to sell Zaniolo to Galatasaray before the Turkish transfer windows closes on Wednesday February 8. The 23-year-old Italian is open to the move, even if his possible release clause still needs to be agreed, and the two clubs are continuing negotiations to try and iron out a deal.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, an intermediary offered free agent Isco to Roma, suggesting him as a possible replacement for Zaniolo, should the Italian leave for Turkey.
The 30-year-old Spaniard started the 2022-23 season with Sevilla but terminated his contract with the club after just four months. He was then just a step away from joining German outfit Union Berlin before talks collapsed over his salary.
At Sevilla, Isco earned €1m net per season, but with a series of add-ons that could’ve raised his wages to just under €5m, the same deal he’s asking for now.
