Two former teammates of Clarence Seedorf have contrasting views over whether he could become the new Coach of Milan.

The Dutchman, a midfielder for Botafogo, has been suggested as a possible replacement for Massimiliano Allegri at the end of this season.

“We’ll have to see what is in the mind of Clarence,” Hernan Crespo told Sky Sport Italia. “But he has some excellent qualities, he could easily be a Coach or a director.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if he did re-join Milan as a Coach, even if he is a bit green to take charge in the immediate future.”

Gianluca Zambrotta, who followed Seedorf out of Milanello last summer, was also questioned about the 37-year-old’s tactical credentials.

“Right now he is in the sun and the sand of Brazil,” the 2006 World Cup winner commented. “I don’t know if such a solution exists.

“You can not doubt him as a player, but being a Coach is something totally different.”
