Nicolo Zaniolo will miss up to a month of action for Roma due to a dislocated shoulder, the latest in a long line of injuries for the unfortunate Italian talent.

The 23-year-old Italian’s season has barely started and he’s already been forced to the sidelines, dealing with yet another physical issue. When fit, Zaniolo is an electric and exciting forward who can produce moments of magic for the Giallorossi, but again he’ll need to stay positive as he works towards full fitness.

Zaniolo’s start to life with Roma went fairly smoothly, until a cruciate ligament rupture in January 2020 ended his season. The young forward stayed focused, and he looked set to miss Italy’s European Championship campaign, until the COVID pandemic put a stop to the season. This seemed to work in Zaniolo’s favour, and he managed to play a handful of games in July.

The Roma forward suffered another cruciate ligament rupture in September 2020, keeping him out of action for the entire 2020-21 season. This was a major blow for Zaniolo, who was forced to watch Italy’s successful Euro 2020 run from home.

Things were moderately better last season for Zaniolo, until he still missed a handful of matches here and there due to a variety of problems, ranging from a knee issue to muscle pain.

Now, the 23-year-old will again have to dig deep to recover from another frustrating injury, missing up to a month with a dislocated shoulder. The only stroke of luck for the Italian forward is that he managed to avoid any fractures to the shoulder or collarbone.

  1. Can’t be worse than Shinterista Calhanoglu who took Lord Allegri’s advice and left Milan in their title winning season for a pub team that wins once every 20 years.
