Juventus will announce Paul Pogba’s return in July but is the Frenchman the answer to all their problems in midfield?

The 29-year-old will make a sensational return to the Allianz Stadium, having already undergone part of his medical with the Serie A giants. The latest reports in Italy suggest that Juventus will announce his signing in July, so Pogba will wear the black and white shirt again, six years after leaving for Old Trafford in a €100m deal.

Pogba has had highs and lows at Old Trafford, where he managed to win the Europa League under José Mourinho. He also became World Cup champion with France in 2018, but, overall, he has never entirely fulfilled his potential at Old Trafford, where he was supposed to become the best midfielder in the world.

Pogba will provide much-needed experience to the Bianconeri midfield and add that physical strength and an eye for goal that Max Allegri is desperate for.

Juventus” central midfielders combined only eight goals in 2021-22 and the Tuscan tactician wants more firepower in the middle of the park, which Pogba can surely deliver. But will it be enough to solve Juventus” problems?

The Bianconeri lack quality in the middle of the park and it’s no coincidence that they’ve also been linked with other midfielders, such as Chelsea’s Regista Jorginho.

Allegri always had a top-class deep-lying playmaker during his first spell at Juventus. First Andrea Pirlo and then Miralem Pjanic and managed to win five Serie A titles from five and reach the Champions League Final twice.

Allegri turned Pjanic from a Mezzala to a Regista in Turin and had been pushing to reunite with the Bosnia international a year ago, when Mire eventually joined Besiktas on loan. The former Bianconeri star is no longer on the club’s radars, but Allegri may be willing to add even more quality to Juventus’ midfield next season.

That’s why the club will listen to offers for Weston McKennie and Adrien Rabiot and, if one of them leaves, Juventus will have the space in the team and the financial resources to sign a new central midfielder with different characteristics from Pogba.

If Juventus don’t sign a new player to deploy in front of the defence, Manuel Locatelli could be used as a playmaker, although he still doesn’t possess the tempo to play in that position.

Pogba is an excellent addition to the current Juventus squad and can easily become the best Serie A player next season, given his experience, strength, and international pedigree. His signing will be crucial to Juventus and will allow Max to bolster the team in the middle of the park immediately.

However, Juventus may need even more to compete with the best teams in Italy and Europe, match their quality in the middle of the park and chase the Serie A title again.

  1. I have only really big wish, please after signing Pogba now never play Rabiot never ever, please sell that guy, please. Its would be all problems solved!

  2. Pjanic was the best when he was at Roma not under Allegri where he just turned into just a ball recycler with little attacking threat. Not every midfielder can play Regista as you can see with Locatelli. Definitely dump Rabiot but I would keep McKennie. Pobga and Mickennie has the potential of making a strong combination in the middle.

  3. I also would keep McKennie, but its crazy when we hear rumours that McKennie is much more limely to leave than tha rubbish Rabiot, I would sell him for zero euros for newcastle, but looks like even they not interested in such deal

  4. Give PhD Max the grande Milan midfield, the prime Barca midfielders or the very best and he will make them all do the reverse engineered back, back, down, down. Pogba will only solve their tik tok appeal. Team him up with tik tok McKennie, Dybala just an hour down the road in Milano and Man Utd form will be in full flight.

  5. Is that a joke?!

This clown hasn’t tried a leg in 6 years. They need far more than some “name” who’s more interested in his hair than football

  6. I not understand why leople talking about players hairstyle or something like that, for example about cr7 all carreer was talking about his hair, about that he is more time behind the mirrors than o training pitch, but where is problem people, he still became best football player ever, and is there problem that he is also most handsome guy in the world? Maybe he likes to be most beautiful and also best footballer at once, where is your problems? If you are jealous than try to beat him if you can

  7. @Forza Juve

Best player ever? Hardly lol. Ronaldo is not playing in an era where he was up against great defenders.

As for Ronaldo’s hair, he cared far more about his football than his hair, unlike Pogba. That’s the difference. Don’t ever compare the two lol. Pogba has been a disgrace at MU.

  8. Pogba alone, probably not. But considering Juve have Locatelli, McKennie, Zakaria and young players like Rovella, Fagioli, Miretti, Soule you would think they could find SOME kind of system that works. Also, sell Arthur and Rabiot and that is money for another MF signing.

  9. never see Italy ever win any euro or world cup again and Serie a is a lousy league all they do is sign losers and take jobs away from young Italian players a league that still adores ibra what a joke no world cup 2 consecutive times no worries as ong as they get pogba and debala

  10. @jo slow – could not agree more. That is the Italian club mentality for you!! They say they dont like the way things are but they are too afraid to change things
