Whispers circulating in Italy on Tuesday are suggesting that Allegri has met with Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani and owner Silvio Berlusconi to discuss transfer targets.

Although linked with Napoli's Marek Hamsik yesterday, it is claimed that the Argentine is the club's real objective.

Allegri wants to challenge for the Champions League next season and believes a player of Pastore's quality can make that happen.

In theory, the tactician would want to play with Pastore as an attacking midfielder, which would see Kevin Prince Boateng fielded in a deeper left-midfield position.

The proposed swoop does have its difficulties though which could see Pastore remain just a dream for the Rossoneri.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini is a tough negotiator and he's already valued Pastore at €40m, €50m and €60m on occasions this term.

Milan are thus likely to offer cash and players in exchange.

Meanwhile, Milan are also being associated with Udinese midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah. He has a market price of around €15m.
