Simone Inzaghi warns Inter need to be ‘concentrated and wary’ in their opening Serie A match of the season against newly-promoted Lecce.
The full 2022-23 Serie A fixture list was drawn up today and the Nerazzurri will begin at the Stadio Via del Mare, which is likely to be one of the hottest venues in the country when played on the weekend of August 13.
“We start the new season against a newly-promoted side like Lecce, so that will be a stimulating challenge, one where we must be concentrated and wary,” Inzaghi told the official club website.
“No games are easy in Serie A. We will be playing every three days, so must prepare in the best possible way and face every match with the same determination.”
Lecce won the Serie B tournament and earned automatic promotion along with Cremonese, while Monza secured their first ever top flight campaign via the play-offs.
Inter missed out on the Scudetto by only a couple of points last season, finishing behind their city rivals Milan.
