“I don’t think that I need to give this team the hairdryer treatment. I see them at work every day and the players are fully aware they have to do something more,” said Inzaghi in his Press conference.

“Was I afraid of the sack? No, never. Everyone here wants what is best for Milan. We will emerge from this moment all together, I am convinced of it. At this stage everyone is at fault and at Milan we all share the same vision on how to get out of this crisis.”

Milan are under huge pressure to deliver, especially as they are hosting bottom of the table Parma.

“We’ve done better against the big clubs than the smaller ones, so I told the lads we must press the reset button and start a whole new season from tomorrow.

“It’s going to be a complicated game, as Parma caused problems for Juventus in the Coppa midweek. They can make life difficult for us, but we cannot let victory get away again. We are all angry at the current situation and have to use that on the field.”

The squad has been reinforced this week with the arrival of Destro from Roma and Spartak Moscow defender Salvatore Bocchetti.

“I thank the club for the important new signings. These are the players I asked for. We all know Destro’s characteristics and I now have a wealth of options in attack.

“Both Destro and Bocchetti are available for tomorrow. Bocchetti hasn’t played for a while, but has always trained. I will evaluate today whether Destro or Pazzini start the game.

“I thank the President for the signings and now it’s up to me to get the team playing better football. We tested out the 4-4-2 on occasion, so we will see.

“Tomorrow we’re without De Jong and Montolivo. Cerci had a good game, but is not 100 per cent yet. We couldn’t think he’d come here and resolve all our problems. He can be very effective off the bench and can play on the right or the left.”
