Inzaghi to Parma unlikely, says Ghirardi

Parma have admitted that they would probably not be able to tempt Milan’s Pippo Inzaghi to join them in January.

Parma have admitted that they would probably not be able to tempt Milan’s Pippo Inzaghi to join them in January.

Inzaghi is reportedly considering his options after barely featuring for the Rossoneri so far this season. He was also omitted from their Champions League squad.

The 38-year-old has been paired with Parma, a club he played for in 1995-96, but the Gialloblu have played down the rumours.

“I would be a hypocrite if I said it wasn’t my dream to have such an important player here,” stated President Tommaso Ghirardi to Radio Monte Carlo.

“We are friends, he’s an excellent guy, but we haven’t spoken about these sorts of things,” added the Tardini chief.

“I think it would be hard for him to leave a club like Milan and play for a provincial side who can’t offer him the stage he is used to.

“Fortunately I have Hernan Crespo here. He’s a flag bearer for us and an idol for the fans. He scored 10 goals in the League last term when he was 35.”
