Simone Inzaghi is currently going through his toughest period as Inter coach but he’s confident that things will turn around soon.

The Nerazzurri’s campaign has kicked off incredibly inconsistently, with the team losing three of their opening seven Serie A matches. In Europe things have been no more decisive, losing to Bayern Munich but beating Viktoria Plzen away. Fans are starting to grow concerned and Inter are now languishing at 7th in the Serie A table with 12 points.

As highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inzaghi has no doubts about his Inter squad and still feels their confidence after the tough start. The Italian coach pointed to the various injuries as a source of issue and also the players’ desire to try and resolve matches on their own, leaving the team stretched across the pitch and open to counterattacks.

The summer transfer market has also left Inter a little wounded. Losing Ivan Perisic was a blow and Robin Gosens is still unable to properly fill his boots, and Milan Skriniar still needs to mentally reset after his serious links to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Inter coach is confident that things will turn around soon, starting with their next game against Jose Mourinho’s Roma, and he hasn’t blamed any of his players, believing himself to be primarily responsible for the poor start.
