Max Allegri said in his press conference yesterday that Juventus should be considered the team in second place in Serie A, as without the 15-point penalty for artificially inflating transfer fees to boost capital gains, they would be on 53 points compared to Inter’s 50.

Danilo doubled down on the suggestion in today’s pre-match interviews.

“It is a special game for the history these two teams have, we want to play well and be able to say we are the team who picked up the most points. We are second in the table.”

Inter coach Inzaghi was asked about the comments, with the appeal against that 15-point penalty coming up on April 19.

“There is great respect with Max, he is a coach who needs no introduction. We can only focus on the field, others who are more suited to that side of matters will take care of the rest,” Inzaghi told DAZN.

Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez start upfront, with Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa on the bench at San Siro in the Derby d’Italia.

“We need to make choices on a daily basis. Lukaku is in good shape, Correa and Dzeko will be ready to give us a hand during the game, we have great faith in Lukaku and Lautaro.”

Angel Di Maria and Federico Chiesa are only fit for the bench, while Inter are missing Milan Skriniar, Robin Gosens and Alessandro Bastoni.

“Juve are so packed with players that I am more concerned with my own team. Both sides are coming off a tour de force and hope to put in a strong performance before the break for international duty.”
