Benevento boss Pippo Inzaghi assures ‘our destiny is in our hands’ still, but there are ‘regrets’ after a 2-2 draw with Genoa.

It was a mad start to the match at Marassi, with Benevento twice going in front only to be pegged back by Goran Pandev goals in the opening 21 minutes.

The scoreline remained at 2-2 for the rest of the game, though, allowing Cagliari to close the gap following their 1-0 win away to Udinese.

“There are regrets because we took the lead twice and conceded on silly situations, then after the break we had a huge chance with Adolfo Gaich,” said Inzaghi in his press conference.

“At the moment, we seem to pay the price for unlucky ricochets at both ends of the pitch, but I saw a good performance in an arena that is notoriously difficult for everyone.

“I saw a team that is ready to fight and that bodes well for the future. Now it’s up to us to maintain our position in the table, our destiny is in our hands and we’ll look at other teams’ results at the end.”
