Brozovic is again out of action after missing the draw with Torino due to that calf injury, so the coach was asked if Arturo Vidal or Hakan Calhanoglu will take over Brozo’s role?
“I think initially Calhanoglu will be in the central role, then the three in midfield can rotate depending on the situation, so we can play out from the back,” Inzaghi told DAZN.
Vidal starts, having complained recently he wanted more playing time and was reportedly fined for saying in an interview he would like to play for Flamengo soon.
“He has always trained well, has been used a lot this season and always gave a good response. There’s no concern.”
Inter dropped down to third place in Serie A with a run of poor results, as well as crashing out of the Champions League Round of 16 against Liverpool.
“We are disappointed that we dropped a few points and slowed down, but we are still definitely in line with our ambitions.”
Inter tried to have a team-building exercise at the training centre this week when they had a huge barbecue, with Argentines Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa as the chefs.
“We worked more in training this week, analysed the situations and not having a midweek match allowed us to work even better.”
