According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Filippo Inzaghi and Fabio Cannavaro are among the candidates to become the new Parma coach.

Both 2006 Italy World Cup winners played at the Ennio Tardini during their playing career.

The former striker scored two goals in 15 appearances in 1995-96, while Cannavaro is one of the club’s legends having played 212 games with the Ducali, winning two Coppa Italia, one Italian Super Cup and one UEFA Cup.

He is currently the head coach of Guangzhou Zuqiu Julebu in China.

With Roberto D’Aversa expected to leave the Stadio Tardini after the club’s relegation to Serie B, both former players emerge as possible alternatives for the Parma dug-out next season.

According to the report, Vincenzo Italiano, Giovanni Stroppa and Paolo Zanetti are also being considered by Parma President Kyle Krause.

Inzaghi’s Benevento side have been relegated to Serie B this season and the former striker has also been linked with becoming the new Monza coach.

Silvio Berlusconi’s club have been eliminated from the Serie B play-offs and reportedly want to sign Gianluigi Buffon.

Parma have recently appointed Javier Ribalta as their new sporting director, while Filippo Galli has been named head of methodology.
