Inter coach Simone Inzaghi stressed he’s only focused on the big game against Real Madrid in the Champions League. ‘The renewal is not my priority’.

Inzaghi currently prepares his men for the match against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, but the reports in Italian media are focusing on his future at the Giuseppe Meazza.

The coach has been praised by fans and media in recent weeks, but the former Lazio tactician doesn’t get carried away by the positive period with the Nerazzurri.

“We know that football is like this. There are moments when everything is fine, like now, then you lose two games and the same who praised you are perhaps the first to criticise,” Inzaghi told SportMediaset.

“This is part of football, of our world. We just have to continue to work in this way, taking one game at a time.”

Inter already considering Inzaghi’s contract extension

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported Inter are already considering extending Inzaghi’s deal at San Siro, as he signed a two-year deal when he replaced Antonio Conte ahead of the season.

“This is stories in the newspapers, but I have other priorities at the moment,” Inzaghi said. “My priority is called Real Madrid.”

Inter play for the top spot in Group D at the Santiago Bernabeu tonight, and a win would see the Nerazzurri surpass Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
