Inter coach Simone Inzaghi said none of the draws were good for the Nerazzurri but admitted ‘the second was certainly worse’, as the Serie A leaders will play Liverpool in February.

The Champions League draw first handed Inter a match against Ajax, who have impressed big time in the group stage this term.

But the draw had to be redone due to an error and Inter were then drawn against the Reds, prompting the Nerazzurri coach to say he would receive the gag prize given out by TV show Striscia la Notizia, ‘the Golden Tapir.

The Nerazzurri coach was asked if he wanted to go out with Liverpool or Diletta Leotta, and answered: “My wife.”

He then commented on the pairing with Jürgen Klopp’s Premier League giants in the last 16 of the competition.

“It didn’t go well in the first draw either,” Inzaghi said. “But the second was certainly worse.

“We’ll think about in it February, but we will give our all.”

The TV show gives the gag prize to someone who has been notably embarrassed or defeated in the preceding week, or left with a long face like the Tapir.
