Benevento coach Filippo Inzaghi prepares for ‘the match of our lives’, as the Streghe continue their fierce rivalry with Crotone on Saturday.

Inzaghi’s men are 10th in Serie A and enjoying their return to the top tier and even if Crotone are at the bottom of the table, he’s not expecting an easy match when the two newly promoted sides meet at the Ezio Scida.

“It’s the match of our lives, like all the others,” Inzaghi said at a press conference. “It would be a shame not to follow our growth path and stop at Crotone.

“We will find a very fiery environment. In Serie B, we lost 3-0 and we need a perfect match.

“If we are not warriors, we will come out of it with broken bones. Anyone who thinks it’s a less difficult match is very wrong.

“I wish Stroppa good luck, a colleague who I think is very good and I hope he can finish the season, because Crotone deserves a different position.”

Gianluca Caprari has returned to training and Inzaghi said he will use both the former Sampdoria forward and Marco Sau against Crotone.

“Luckily he no longer feels pain and is training, we’ll see what happens,” Inzaghi said. “I still have training available, but there’s Sau who is doing well and has two extraordinary games.

“I will use both, one starting and the other during the game.”

Pasquale Schiattarella has tested positive for coronavirus but Inzaghi is not concerned about the absentees.

“We have never worried about the absences, we lose Schiattarella at the best moment of his career, as well as [Gaetano] Letizia.

“But we have never been clinging to alibis. I don’t accept excuses. I have [Bryan] Dabo, [Artur] Ionita and [Perparim] Hetemaj who can cover that role, all three are available.

“[Nicola] Viola is also training well, a little more patience and we will see the player we all know.”
