Stephan El Shaarawy says Coach Pippo Inzaghi needs time at Milan, and the Europa League is still a realistic target.

The Italian international is currently sidelined with a metatarsal injury, and the Rossoneri are struggling in his absence, picking up two wins in 2015, both against sides in the relegation zone.

“We go from great performances against the big teams, to disappointing ones against the smaller side,” El Shaarawy told Sky.

“We have to build from the game we played on Sunday against Cesena, and try to pick up as many points as we can, because the Europa League is still an attainable goal.

“Inzaghi? It’s his first year with a big team, he needs time. He has great commitment and desire, he just needs a little time. He’s a Coach with clear ideas, and a great person.”

The Pharaoh also discussed his injury, and says he’s passing his time playing pool at Milanello as he battles back to fitness.

“I’m recovering well. I’m going through this injury in a more peaceful and calm way, because I’ve already had an experience like this in the past, so I know how to deal with it better.

“In the morning I have treatment on my foot, do some upper body work and eat at Milanello, then if there is time I play pool as a distraction.

“Who are the best? [Andrea] Poli, [Michelangelo] Albertazzi and [Riccardo] Montolivo, but the person who wins the most is me.

“[Clarence] Seedorf was also very good.”
