Inzaghi: ‘Lazio waiting for De Vrij’

Simone Inzaghi says Lazio are “waiting for news” on Stefan de Vrij, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

The Dutch defender has so far not signed a new contract, with reported interest from both Inter and Barcelona.

Today Inzaghi spoke in a Press conference ahead of the Spal game, the final match before the winter break.

Given the January transfer window is open, the Coach was inevitably asked about potential signings, and De Vrij’s situation.

Given the January transfer window is open, the Coach was inevitably asked about potential signings, and De Vrij’s situation.

“As things stand I haven’t talked about the transfer market with the club,” Inzaghi replied.

“We have today and tomorrow where we have to focus on Spal. Then there will be the break and a week off, I’ll be in constant contact with the club and we’ll see if we can do something.

“So far we’ve only talked about [Stefan] De Vrij, I’ve said what I want. Obviously I want him to renew, because he’s extraordinary.

“We’re waiting for news, but this week I’ve only thought about tomorrow’s game.”
