Inter coach Simone Inzaghi said the match against FC Sheriff Tiraspol ‘will be very important’ and revealed the Nerazzurri are‘angry’ after the defeat to Lazio in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri aim to bounce back from the setback against Inzaghi’s former club with their first win in the Champions League on Tuesday.

FC Sheriff Tiraspol arrive at San Siro for the third match in Group D, where Inter sit third with only one point after the first two games.

“Tomorrow will be a very important match,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia. “We have arrived at the third game of the group, and we haven’t won yet.

“We face a team with six points from two games and we will have to play a great game to win and get back on track.”

Inzaghi said the ups and downs of the initial phase continued in the 3-1 defeat to Lazio in Serie A and revealed the players and staff are angry.

“We are all very angry about what happened on Saturday,” Inzaghi continued. “I watched it back and, in my opinion, we played 60 excellent minutes against a strong team.

“There’s a great regret, the lads are very angry, just like me. That’s OK, because I understand that I’m dealing with winners.”

Inzaghi expects a physical game against FC Sheriff and hopes to see a ‘focused’ Inter in front of goal, as the Nerazzurri arrive after one win in their last four games and a 0-0 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in the last Champions League match.

“It will be a game of running, aggression and determination,” he said. “They have won two games against strong teams, we must be good.

“They are a short, aggressive team, and we must be good at keeping our formation well. We are the best attack in Serie A, we create a lot, but tomorrow we will need focus to obtain a win that is fundamental for us.”

The match at the Giuseppe Meazza kicks off at 19.00 UK time tomorrow.
