Simone Inzaghi highlighted Inter’s frustrations after their loss to Bologna and noted what needs to be done to return to winning ways against Lecce.

The Nerazzurri were left feeling bitter following their 1-0 loss to Bologna on February 26, when Riccardo Orsolini’s 76th minute strike left Inzaghi and his squad with nothing in Emilia-Romagna.

The defeat saw Inter fall 18 points behind league leaders Napoli and in a tense position in the race for a top four finish, putting the pressure on with 14 Serie A matches left to play.

Speaking to Inter’s media department, Inzaghi first discussed his and the players’ reactions to the loss to Bologna.

“We arrive at this challenge angry, we can’t wait to take the pitch. After Bologna we analysed the mistakes we made, to fight the inconsistency we have to put our concentration and head on the pitch, starting tomorrow.”

He commented on what kind of reaction he expects from his players against the Puglian outfit.

“Like great men and a great squad, which we are.”

The Inter coach spoke highly about the upcoming opponents Lecce.

“It’ll be a difficult match because Lecce are fit, play excellent football and are having a great season. We have to be very careful.”

He touched on the unity in the Nerazzurri squad.

“The players are very willing, even in changing roles. There is a lot of hard work from everyone.”

Finally, Inzaghi was asked about his and Inter’s biggest regret of the season.

“In the league we could have done better, but it’s also right not to forget the good things that we’ve done in the last 18 months, trying to take the best.”
