Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi announced Felipe Luiz has tested positive for COVID-19, said Ciro Immobile is ready and revealed Luis Alberto will be ‘fined’.

The Aquile continue against Crotone in Serie A tomorrow and coach Inzaghi has a lot on his mind ahead of the match at the Stadio Ezio Scida.

Immobile has tested negative for coronavirus and underwent the required medical visits for his return, making himself available for Inzaghi on Saturday.

“I found him as I had left him, with great desire to play and to make himself available for the team,” Inzaghi said at a press conference.

“I saw him in a good condition, even if he only trained twice with the group. I only saw [Vedat] Muriqi today, and I will decide the starting line-up tomorrow.”

Inzaghi then admitted Luis Alberto will receive a fine for his comment against the managers but added he has worked well in training.

“It was a difficult week for him from a personal point of view. On a professional level, on the other hand, he worked very well and I’m happy for him.

“He knows he did something stupid and will be rightfully fined by the club.”

Inzaghi must cope without Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who tested positive for coronavirus during the international break, and the coach admitted Luiz Felipe is out with COVID-19 too.

“It will be a busy month for us. There are 10 games before Christmas, all very demanding. We are recovering slowly.

“Today, [Thomas] Strakosha is back, even if I don’t think he will make it for Crotone. Luiz Felipe is out, he has COVID too, after the match against Juventus.

“Milinkovic and [Senad] Lulic will also be missing, as will Escalante, who still needs four to five days.

“There’s discontent [about the players returning positive for COVID after the international break], but many of my colleagues are in the same situation.

Inter and Cagliari also had problems after this national break. We will miss Milenkovic, he is completely asymptomatic, I hope he will be back as soon as possible.”

Felipe Caicedo could return to the starting line-up and Inzaghi said Crotone are ‘an uncomfortable opponent’.

“He worked well, like all his teammates. He completed all the sessions,” Inzaghi said. “I will decide the formation with the staff tomorrow.

“Crotone are an uncomfortable opponent, they play very well and have a precise identity. It would be fundamental to bounce back.

“We have been working well since last Wednesday. The players who went with their national teams returned in fair conditions.

“Tomorrow, we will have some pitfalls to overcome, but we are preparing.”
