Milan Coach Pippo Inzaghi admits he knew about Adriano Galliani’s trip to Spain, but will prepare for next season until told otherwise.

The Rossoneri’s joint-CEO has been in Madrid this week attempting to convince Carlo Ancelotti to return next season, replacing Inzaghi.

“It’s no problem,” the former striker insisted in his Press conference ahead of the trip to Atalanta.

“I was told ahead of time. I’m grateful to Milan, and I have a contract. I’ll try to prepare better for next season, until I’m told differently.

“After 10 months I understand the squad and the environment much better. I’m convinced this team can improve.

“The thing about being a Coach is that there will be positive and negative things. If the club decides to make a change, I’ll be grateful to Milan, and I’ll continue elsewhere.

“If not, I’ll work to do well. I still have a contract, I haven’t given up. I think Milan is the perfect place for me, and I hope to continue here.

“Could I work with Ancelotti? What does that mean? I’ll Coach for the next 30 years, I’m very conscious of my ideas, my strengths and my work ethic.

“It’s unthinkable for me to stay in another role, I’m a Coach.

“Ancelotti is a good friend of mine, and there’s no problem with him.”

Despite his protestations, Inzaghi appears to be a dead man walking, with President Silvio Berlusconi saying only this morning that he believes the team to be better than it is showing.

“I won’t comment any further. Let’s talk about the game tomorrow.”
