The first Derby della Capitale of the season takes place on Saturday, but the Biancocelesti boss won’t be turning his attentions to Roma too soon.

“My staff and I have to choose the best line-up for every match,” Inzaghi said in his pre-match Press conference.

“It was right to use [Felipe] Caicedo on Sunday, it was the ideal match for him and he deserved to play. It’s always the pitch that decides whether your choices were the right ones or not, but they’re always made for the good of my Lazio.

“I have to make some evaluations, because we only had the whole group for today’s training session.

“Everyone is available apart from [Stefan] Radu and [Jordan] Lukaku. Tomorrow we’ll have regenerative training session and I have to choose, but in my mind there’s only Udinese.

“The derby is a game unto itself, we know that, but first we have to be focused on Udinese.

“They can defend well, they’re well drilled, they have a style of play and they run a lot, so they’ll make it hard for us.

“It’s a tough game tomorrow, we’re playing a team in good health with quick players on the counter-attack.

“They’re also very physical so we need to be organised and lucid. The league doesn’t wait for anyone, things can change so much in just two games. The focus is solely on Udinese.”

Inzaghi was then pressed for more details on his likely selection.

“There could be a chance for [Milan] Badelj. Lucas Leiva is very important and played really well against Genoa, the same goes for Badelj, who gives us other options and dribbled more on Sunday.

“Last year Leiva played 51 out of 55 games, he’ll play fewer this year but he remains crucial for us.

“Luis Alberto will play from the beginning since he didn’t play on Sunday, he’s been training well in the past two days.

“The others I need to evaluate.

“Sergej Milinkovic-Savic? He had an excellent match on Sunday, this morning he seemed in good condition but he’s the only one, along with [Francesco] Acerbi who I need to evalaute.

“He’s never been rested so I’ll decide tomorrow, but he’s been training all week.

“That said, it’s difficult to play Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday which is how it’s fallen for us, so we’ll try to be ready.

“Luiz Felipe and Etrit Berisha are both available, but I need to make some evaluations.

“Could Felipe start? I’m thinking about it, Acerbi is coming off four games in a row, even if the others have played a lot of games too.

“I’ll evaluate things right up until a few hours before the match.”
