Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi says he will sign a contract extension with the Biancocelesti and claims his side deserved to win against Genoa.

The Bianconcelesti are still in the race for a top-four finish after their 4-3 win over Genoa today.

“The lads were so good. We played very well for 80 minutes. We could have scored more than four goals. We have 11 straight victories at home, another record. I am proud to be the coach of these players, we want to finish in the top four,” the coach told DAZN.

“We faced a great team, with many quality footballers, we created so many opportunities and it’s not easy against Genoa, we deserved to win.”

Lazio need more of the same in the remaining five games, including the rescheduled fixture from matchday 25 against Torino.

“It’s our desire, our Girone di Ritorno was perfect, we lost a few points in the first part of the season, but we wanted to qualify for the Champions League last 16 stage.”

Will he sign a contract extension with Lazio?

“Now we want to have a positive end to the season. I am on good terms with the President, we are not in a hurry.

“Lotito has a few personal issues right now and we play one game every three days. There will be no problems.”

Inzaghi's contract expires at the end of the season and he is expected to sign a one-year extension with the Aquile.
