Inzaghi: ‘Bologna death threats disgusting’

Bologna Coach Filippo Inzaghi condemns the “reprehensible” death threats aimed at three directors.

Last week CEO Claudio Fenucci, sporting director Riccardo Bigon and scout Marco Di Vaio became the objects of death threats, with three crosses bearing their names left outside the club's training ground in Casteldebole.

“We’re only here to talk about football,” Inzaghi said in his Press conference ahead of the Milan game.

“What happened at Casteldebole really hit me, an utterly reprehensible gesture. I want to express my closeness to the directors, and now my team and I have one more reason to play a great game against Milan.

“The ritiro? We’ll need to decide where to train because there’s snow in Casteldebole, we’ve been in ritiro since yesterday because we want to be together and get out of this period.

“It’s been a long week, I hope the game will come soon.

“Our adrenaline has to be at 1,000. The squad is fired-up, a perfect game might not be enough but I think we can play a great match and give everything.”

Tomorrow will be an emotional game for Super Pippo, who is a Rossoneri legend and will be facing former teammate Gennaro Gattuso.

“Gattuso is a great friend, we spoke a short time ago when he was under pressure. It will be a special day because of what Milan means to me, a club that will always and forever be in my heart.”

Inzaghi himself is under pressure now…

“I’ve never thought anything had changed between the directors and me, I’ve always been very serene.

“The club knows how to work and the players know how to work, being questioned is part of our job.

“I knew we’d be battling relegation, we know that we all need to give more. I believe in staying up, I believe in it strongly.

“The light is around the corner, I want to see everyone fighting.”
