Gianluca Zambrotta thinks Pippo Inzaghi would be a better choice as the next Milan boss than Clarence Seedorf.

Both of his former teammates have been linked with the job given the uncertain future of boss Massimiliano Allegri, whose contract is set to expire in 2014.

“At this moment in time it will probably be left to Allegri to lead the side out of this situation,” the 2006 World Cup winner told RAI Sport.

“For the future, though, I think Inzaghi would be more prepared for the Coach role than Seedorf.”

Inzaghi is currently in charge of the club’s Primavera youth side, while the Dutchman is still playing for Brazilian outfit Botafogo.

Milan’s troubled season continued with a 1-1 draw against Genoa on Saturday. That was their fifth top-fight game without a win and leaves them 13th in the table.

“I think there is a lack of experience in the squad,” Zambrotta, who spent four years at the club before his 2012 exit, added. “But I still think Allegri has control of the squad.

“This is a difficult moment for the team and they unfortunately can’t count on players such as Mattia De Sciglio and Stephan El Shaarawy, players who really helped last term.”
