“It’s going to be a very important clash for the table, for our performance, and we are coming into it on a good period of form,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“There are another 10 games after this, but it is still an important crossroads. We will need the best version of Lazio, which we have seen a few times lately, but must also find consistency in a great stadium against a great opponent.”

Last season, Inter beat Lazio at the Olimpico in the final match to leapfrog them into the Champions League spot, but so far this term the Aquile have knocked the Nerazzurri out of the Coppa Italia quarter-final on penalties.

“There are five sides ahead of us in the table and they were all constructed to achieve huge objectives. We have fought it out with all of them, even though on paper they have more strength in depth, and that has been the case for three years now.

“Don’t forget, before the season kicked off, people thought Inter were the main Scudetto challengers to Juventus.”

Stefan Radu and Jordan Lukaku are out of action, while Lucas Leiva, Patric and Adam Marusic require fitness tests.

“Patric had a fever, so it’s very unlikely he will feature. Neto had a muscular issue and we tried to the end with Radu, but he won’t be ready for tomorrow. I have to choose between Neto and Luiz Felipe.”

Inter are missing Stefan de Vrij, but Keita Balde Diao should start against his former club.

“We know Keita well, he has immense quality and can play as a centre-forward or a wide attacker. I’ll be happy to see him again, but it changes little for us whether Keita or Mauro Icardi starts. We have to focus on our own attitude and remain positive.

“We’ve seen in football that everything is open. There are teams like Atalanta, Sampdoria and Torino who have made a leap forward and it’s a real battle for European places. I think the sides higher up the table will drop points in these final weeks of the season, so it’ll be open right to the end.”
