Inzaghi believes his Inter can ‘win any type of match’

Simone Inzaghi highlighted the importance of tomorrow’s match against Hellas Verona and noted that his team have learnt how to suffer together.

Inter will host the Gialloblu at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza tomorrow evening at 17.00 UK time, a game in which they cannot afford to drop points. Losing that match would all but rule them out of contention for the league title this season, something which they had a solid grip on only months earlier.

Speaking to Inter’s media department, Inzaghi first discussed the importance of the victory over rivals Juventus.

“It was a very important win from all points of view. We got it against a very strong team in a direct match, and it allows us to stay close to the leaders and to play the final part of the season in the best possible way.”

He gave his thoughts on the title race this season.

“I think this Inter team has what it takes to win any type of match. In Turin we did well, when we had to suffer we all suffered together and this allowed us to win a fundamental match for our path.”

The former Lazio coach looked ahead to tomorrow’s opponents Hellas Verona.

Verona will be a very important match for us and it will be difficult because we will face a team of great intensity, with quality players and we will have to be good at playing a great game as a true Inter team.”

Finally, Inzaghi discussed the absence of Lautaro Martinez and noted the need for all of his squad to be focused.

“He’ll be missing but I’m lucky to have Dzeko, Correa, Caicedo and Sanchez who are doing well, they’re available and they’re training in the best possible way.

“I think there will be space for everyone in the game but, apart from the strikers, we’ll have to play a big game with the whole team.”

Inter currently sit 3rd in the Serie A table with 63 points, three behind 2nd place Napoli but with a game in hand. It’ll be a tense end to the season for all three teams as the Serie A title race remains the most thrilling in Europe.
