Alessandro Bastoni and Simone Inzaghi have been banned following a row at the end of the Milan derby, while Lautaro Martinez has been fined.

The Sporting judge has suspended the Inter defender for two games, meaning he will miss the upcoming fixture against Napoli at the Stadio Maradona.

Bastoni was replaced after 82 minutes but was involved in a touchline row with Theo Hernandez who had received a straight red card in the final minutes of the game. The Sporting Judge explained that Bastoni has been suspended because of his repeated insults towards one of the referee’s assistants.

Inzaghi was also suspended for one match for the same reason, although the coach targeted the referee inside the dressing room. The Nerazzurri tactician was also fined €15,000.

Lautaro Martinez was also involved in the dispute and a video that has gone viral on social media seemed to show the Argentinean striker spitting at Theo while the Milan defender was on his way to the dressing room. However, Lautaro has been cleared of allegations and was fined €10,000.

Theo Hernandez received a one-match ban and was fined €5,000 after receiving a straight red card shown ‘provocative attitude towards the opposing fans’ at the end of the match.

Roma starlet Nicolò Zaniolo was given a one-match ban after being sent off against Genoa.

  1. And did Theo’s red card get turned into a yellow? Because professional fouls happen all day and if it had happened in the third minute instead of the last three that’s exactly what it would have been, a yellow. Lautaro should have been banned as well for spitting. Now the hypocrites at Inter can go play vs. Napoli without a key defender.

  2. On top of garbage refeering bordering conspiracy they suspend Bastoni 2 games and Theo one? That piece of garbage elbowed barella, tried to hurt dumfries, started a brawl, amd gets one game? Calciopoli is alive…

  3. I think the sporting judge and the referee haven’t seen and reported the alleged spitting incident. Lautaro is probably just fined for the post match brawl that also included Bastoni.

Anyways, Inter have lost three matches this season, against Milan, Lazio and Real Madrid and they have caused a brawl and unbelievable drama in all three matches. They need to learn to take a loss like normal human beings. It’s ok to be angry after a loss, but it’s not ok to take it out on someone else.

  4. @ Vero Rossonero
Who’s the hypocrite here? Don’t make a fool of yourself! It’s too late though. Theo should have received a red for his elbow in the first half. He played like a moron all game. Should have got a 2 match ban.
And I’m not complaining about Bastoni’s and Inzaghi’s.

  5. @dzurjakcsopi. You are the fool since once incident has nothing to do with another. If the referee missed a red or whatever for an elbow earlier in the game, he can’t then arbitrarily give one later to “make up” for missing the first. It’s not in the rules. If later the league reviews the incident and gives Theo a red for the elbow (for violent conduct) then that’s another matter. BTW, playing like a moron all game is not in the rules as being the basis for a dismissal. Otherwise Gyasi would have been ejected from the Spezia game long before scoring the winning goal (never mind all the other bad calls). Fool.

  6. And to be clear, that wasn’t even a “make-up” call, as if you contend, Theo has been a moron all game then the referee had all game to warn him (give him a yellow) before finally giving him a second yellow. The red was given directly for the blatant professional foul with one minute remaining in injury time, again, a foul that should it have happened at any other point in the game would probably have been a yellow.

  7. Lautaro should actually be banned for at least 6 months. Spitting on someone during a pandemic should be treated as attempted manslaughter.

He should be tried in court and jailed.

  8. Attempted manslaughter? Get with reality. No evidence & was a sure negative I’m sure

    Take it easy fella

  9. AC Milan are an average team who are simply over achieving.

A word of warning to all Diavolo, it is the MARATHON not the sprint

    Inter have no excuses
But if they fail Spalletti will win his first Scudetto and for Napoli since Maradona 1990

  10. I am not into cancel culture etc, but making excuses for whether he spat or not is denial. He spat and he should be fined more then £10,000 as it is a repulsive act. Yet Theo gets fined £5000. Total clowns how they run things in Italy.

  11. Wasn’t Douglas Costa banned for like 3 weeks for spitting? Ha, despite you’re claims to the contrary you Inter fans live a charmed life.

  12. Ok so is there actually proof he spat?

The action of running to the tunnel to engage Theo should be looked at.

  13. Milan fans showing their small team mentality. Crying to the refs after Spezia and now all of a sudden they’re gonna win the league. Hate to break it to them but that team ain’t winning anything this season. Enjoy the victory but look out behind you! And as for the Milan players…someone needs to tell them one game doesn’t win a league (I know they might not have the experience or intelligence to know this)

  14. I think it’s clear Inter that Inter are too angry with the loss against such a weak team. But the anger when inter lose usually turns into a series of wins and they need it considering it’ll involve Liverpool, Napoli and Roma.

  15. …and as for Juve fans. What happened to the big club that rules Italy and is obsessed with winning ‘ok big ears? Well done for your two new players for scoring on their debuts but let’s get some context here…this ain’t the second coming! Go pray to your lords Adam Dikby and moody Nedved. Trebles ain’t easy!

  16. Spitting has ways been punishable, it should be much more so during a pandemic – He is showing the whole world the finger, we can’t go out and live our lives as normal, and he is privileged enough to keep working and making millions, and then literally spit at a fellow footballer?!?!?

Masks in the stadiums, empty seats and reduced capacity because of potential infection by, exactly, spit, sneezing and what it, person to person.

Honestly, he should have been given a long ban for that one. It’s unacceptable behaviour. The fact that the ref doesn’t see it shouldn’t even matter – It’s a case of public health violations.

Go try to spit at a bank teller and see what happens… Try a police officer… A taxi driver… It’s on film… 10k?

    It’s a shame to watch.

  17. @ dzurjakcsopi

If Theo should’ve been given a red and a two match ban for an alleged non-existent elbow then I guess Dzeko should’ve been banned for life considering his blatant, violent elbow to that poor Venezia players’ face!

    @ Solointer

In your attempt to take a sideswipe at Milan you actually confirmed that your team, Inter, are sore losers.

  18. @Solointer, But the anger when inter lose usually turns into a series of wins… IF Conte is still in charge. Now, take a deep breath and prepare yourself to watch your team doing the usual free fall tradition with loser coach in charge.

  19. It looked like he spat. Theo’s reaction looked like he was spat at. If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck…

  20. THE CONVERSTAIONS HERE ARE SO CORNY. I CAN ALLEGE THERE WAS A NUCLEAR WEAPON UNDER HIS SHIRT.. UNTIL VIDEO SHOWS HIM SPITTING I BELIEVE ITS JUST SOME LOSERS GASLIGHTING A HEATED INCIDENT. NO PROOF…WHERES THE VIDEO EVIDENCE? I WALK TOWARD PEOPLE TO ARGUE ALL DAY, CAN YOU NOW JUST SAY THAT I SPIT TOO?

  21. The evidence available seems to point to the fact that there was no spit though the gang on here seem to want to have him hung, drawn and quartered after trial by social media. Points to how weak Seria A now is that this Milan side could possibly win after being dominated for 70 minutes. Still a lesson learned.

  22. @ solo inter, you are somewhat correct. Milan are certainly weakened. We have been missing our two starting CB’s , starting CDM , and Starting CF.
Did you notice how the tide turned when Inzaghi pulled off a couple of starters in the derby , showing cracks in the depth.

  23. @ DB Mulan….or it could be a picture of a duck with sound affects……with someone gaslighting the already convinced that it is a duck? Duck soup – no soup for you!

  24. “we can’t go out and live our lives as normal”

Wake up, go protest your government, even with its draconian leanings *and we’re by no means clear of this, with lots of bad laws coming up to parliament* the UK has been pretty normal since July 2021.

  25. Inter fan are really low life.
You never will be team Amy way.
    Always you will be crying
Imagine if was VAR on Materazi time
Materazi will have 3 read cards on game. And one when he sleeping

  26. @ DI Sonesto

Nobody here is thinking we’re suddenly gonna win the league, maybe you keep thinking so and need to take a breath? And someone needs to educate Inter players that losing is part of the game, it ain’t the end of the world, so that they will remain civil.

Anyway, your whole comment could be translated to : “I’m butthurt, I’m butthurt, I’m butthurt”

You lost a game. Get on with it and stop crying.

  27. @ vero rossonero
I am happy to be educated someone as ignorant as you.
you amuse me, and probably many of us. obviously not cypher and milan fan, who are more ignorant than you, and can not even undestand what is going on here.
you ar ignorant, fool and a hypocrite. So I am not surprised you could not interpret what I was writing. It is ok. Not everyone has more than one brain cell. Do not feel bad about yourself!
