Benevento coach Filippo Inzaghi said it’s ‘a pleasure’ to return to former club Bologna. ‘Without that experience, I wouldn’t have arrived here’.

Inzaghi was replaced by current Rossoblu coach Sinisa Mihajlovic in January 2019, when Bologna had only picked up two wins and sat 18th in the League.

Mihajlovic also replaced Inzaghi as Milan coach in 2015, but the Streghe coach said he ‘respects’ the Serbian and praised the job he has done at the Renato Dall’Ara.

“For me it’s always a pleasure to come back,” Inzaghi said at a press conference. “I had a good time there, the people treated me great and the executives showed me love.

“Without that experience, I wouldn’t have arrived at Benevento. I’m sorry that there won’t be any spectators because I would have loved to greet the fans.

“They have a great coach now, an opponent I respect a lot and who is doing a good job.”

Benevento are 14th in the table ahead of the match in Bologna and are without a win in their last five games.
