The club had warned their fans to ‘celebrate responsibly,’ respecting social distancing and COVID restrictions.
However, as soon as Sassuolo–Atalanta finished, thousands of fans gathered in the streets of Milan, mainly in the central Piazza Duomo.

However, as soon as Sassuolo-Atalanta finished, thousands of fans gathered in the streets of Milan, mainly in the central Piazza Duomo.
“Now is the time to celebrate, for all Inter Fans. An emanating joy that we invite you to express in the most responsible way possible: we are champions in this too,” Inter’s message read.
According to reports in Italy, over 30,000 Inter fans celebrated the Scudetto in the streets of Milan.
Italy is in the middle of its vaccination campaign, and Milan’s Region Lombardia has been one of the most affected by COVID.
Last week, the Government reopened bars and restaurants outdoor, but while retailers are facing restrictions all over Italy, Inter fans were left free to celebrate without respecting any rule.
“I am surprised to see different measures used in a common emergency,” Marco Barbieri, the general secretary of Milan’s Confcommercio, the general confederation of enterprises, said.
“Bars and restaurants can’t reopen, despite ensuring spacing and sanitization, but it is only allowed to use outdoor spaces.
“On the contrary, parks and squares can be filled uncontrollably and without health precaution.
Many Milan citizens protested with Mayor Beppe Sala on Facebook, accusing him of not controlling an event that was easy to predict.
