Inter are planning to activate the buy option attached to Francesco Acerbi’s loan but they want a discount from Lazio, reports suggest.

The 34-year-old Italian centre back had a complete relationship breakdown with the Biancocelesti supporters during his last season in Rome, prompting him to push for a move away last summer. Acerbi was reunited with his former coach Simone Inzaghi at Inter and he’s featured often this season, starting seven Serie A games.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter are planning to keep Acerbi and activate the buy option attached to his loan move, but they want a discount on the €4m fee agreed last summer.

The Milanese club plan to offer Lazio around €2m, with various add-ons included, linked to objectives like Champions League qualification.

Talks have not yet been opened between the two clubs but updates could come in January, when the transfer window re-opens.

Acerbi has made 14 appearances across all competitions for Inter since his arrival in the summer.

  1. While people talking about signing Kiwior etc, this club tried hard to replace Skriniar with… ACERBI — and with discounted price! Cheapskate!

  2. Inter are becoming cheapskates and seem to be replacing younger players with older ones which has only one outcome FAILURE
