Inter director Alessandro Antonello reveals where Inter want to build their new stadium if Milan drop the San Siro project and ensures the Nerazzurri cleared the air with PSG during a meeting on Wednesday.

Inter’s CEO Corporate spoke to reporters on Wednesday after the ECA Board Member Meeting that took place in Milan.

He touched on a number of issues, starting from the plans for a new stadium involving Inter and their city rivals Milan.

Asked whether Inter are planning to build their new arena in Assago, Antonello replied [via Gazzetta]: “I am confident about Plan A, which is San Siro along with Milan. After three and a half years of intense work and approval from the city council, although some details haven’t been fixed yet, it would be worth thinking twice before dropping the project.

“As of today, that [Assago] is the main alternative. Now we are waiting for Milan’s assessment on La Maura.

“The next steps are clear to Inter, whether Milan stay at San Siro or move elsewhere. We have a plan B that aims to protect the interests of the club and especially the fans.”

The Nerazzurri had faced defeat in the last away match at Bologna and Antonello stressed that “a top-four finish is a target we can’t miss and the minimum objective in Serie A this season.”

The Nerazzurri confirmed on Tuesday that their shirt sponsor DigitalBits hadn’t paid a penny of their sponsorship fees for the current campaign.

“There are no further updates, I want to highlight that the club is looking for a new partner and we are in advanced talks with several subjects,” said Antonello.

“These negotiations are demanding in terms of time, but we are confident that we’ll have a new shirt sponsor for next season.”

Wednesday’s ECA meeting gave Inter directors a chance to meet their PSG counterparts who have reached an agreement to sign Milan Skriniar as a free agent. The Ligue 1 giants had pushed to sign the Slovakia international in the summer, but Inter refused to sell for less than €70m.

“We spoke in a pleasant way also about transfer-related issues and all the summer diatribes have already dissolved,” concluded Antonello.
