Edin Dzeko showed he still holds Roma close to his heart as eagle-eyed viewers noticed that he was wearing shinpads bearing the Giallorossi side’s logo during Inter‘s Coppa Italia final win over Juventus.

The Bosnia international left Roma to join Inter at the beginning of the season after six years in the Italian capital.

However, during that time he failed to win a major trophy despite reaching the Champions League and Europa League semi-finals as well as finishing second in Serie A during the 2016-17 campaign when he scored 29 league goals.

The Coppa Italia final took place at the Stadio Olimpico and he ensured Roma were represented in some form as he claimed his first major honour in that stadium.

An image of Dzeko lay on the ground with legs bent allowed the camera to see through his socks and the Roma shinpads were clearly in view.

It isn’t the first time the 36-year-old has worn the Roma shinpads as they were also present on his first return to his former home when Inter beat Jose Mourinho’s side 3-0 in December.

Roma have the chance to win their first major trophy since 2008 when they face Feyenoord in the Europa Conference League final on May 25.
