Hakan Calhanoglu celebrated Inter’s progress to the Champions League semi-finals with a post on instagram, captioned with a statement of intent regarding his side’s future prospects in the competition.

The Nerazzurri’s 3-3 draw with Benfica at San Siro on Thursday evening put an entertaining end to the tie, which ended 5-3 on aggregate, teeing up a Derby della Madonnina against Milan in the Champions League semi-final.

On a post on instagram, the Turkish international posted a series of photos from the game against Benfica along with the words: “We’re not done yet.”

Calhanoglu is among the list of players who have turned out for both the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri in his career, having made the switch to join Inter in the summer of 2021.

Despite both Inter and Milan having won the Scudetto in the seasons ending 2021 and 2022, Calhanoglu was not part of either championship winning squad, having switched joined Inter off the back of their league title win, before Milan claimed the honours in the following season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the only other current player in either squad to have played for both Milan and Inter in their time, however, he is not part of Stefano Pioli’s Champions League squad and will therefore not be involved in this year’s semi-final.
