Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic set a new record for distance covered in a World Cup match in Croatia’s win over Japan.

The 30-year-old midfielder played the full 120 minutes of the Round of 16 clash with Japan, putting in a strong performance to help his nation reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup. Brozovic has played every available minute in Qatar and looks to be on top form, something Inter will be overjoyed to see.

In Croatia’s win over Japan, Brozovic broke the World Cup record for the most distance covered on the pitch, covering 16.7 kilometres of ground.

The Inter midfielder previously held the record, setting it in 2018 in Russia in Croatia’s semi-final win over England, where he covered 16.3km of the pitch.

The 30-year-old Brozovic has made 81 caps for his national team and will be hoping to put on a strong show in Qatar, which could be his last World Cup.
