Walter Mazzarri lashes out at Inter, saying his former club had 'no grounds' to sack him.

The former Sampdoria and Napoli Coach was shown the door by the Nerazzurri last November, and replaced by Roberto Mancini, in the midst of a series of poor results.

While the 53-year-old has kept his silence about the club's decision until now, he revealed in an interview with Japanese publication World Soccer Digest that he did not agree with the decision.

“In my opinion there were no grounds to sack me,” he said.

“In my opinion there were no grounds to sack me,” he said.

“As far as what was going on with the environment at Inter, I've made up my mind about that

“But everybody is acting dumb on the subject. I'll say no more, there will be the right time and place to discuss this in the future.

“The staff I worked with always recognised how, in my last few teams, including Inter, there was always a precise, proactive gameplan.

“After all, [Antonio] Conte's Juve had a three-man defence and they won two Scudetti in a row.

“They changed their own formation precisely so they could adapt to our type of play. So much for being a provincial club!

“The facts are objective and indisputable.

“But some people just take it as their job to sling mud. For them, even mathematics becomes an opinion.

“There's no-one blinder than the man who doesn't want to see.

“I know how it works: when you're prejudiced against someone, it distorts your view of reality.”
