“It’s a fantastic thing for me and for Inter.

“I’m confident, the club will do everything it can to build a great team and get back to winning ways.

“We’re a young squad and I’m sure players will come in that will help us to improve.

“San Siro is one of the best stadiums in the world and when it’s full it’s even more beautiful. Playing in front of our fans in a Nerazzurri Meazza is a wonderful thing.”

The Argentinian was Serie A’s joint-top scorer this year, and admits he’s disappointed he couldn’t overhaul Luca Toni to take the award for his own.

“It’s an important achievement, the ultimate for a forward. I’m disappointed because I could have done better and overtaken Toni, but I’m happy with the award and my extension.”
