The Nerazzurri were top of the Serie A table in December, but have now plummeted to fifth place with one win in two months.

“I expected this to happen,” said Bellugi on Tuttomercatoweb. “At the start of the season when everyone was praising the Nerazzurri, you just had to watch their games to see how they were getting these victories…

“Samir Handanovic was always the Man of the Match with 10 decisive saves. In these cases, when you’re living on luck and it runs out, this is what happens.”

Bellugi spent most of his career at Inter, coming up through the youth ranks and playing for the senior team from 1969 to 1974. He also amassed 32 senior caps for Italy.

“Antonio Candreva is over-rated. If Borja Valero was that good, Real Madrid would’ve kept him. I’m fed up, as you won’t go far with only three good players in a team.

“Ivan Perisic plays well only when he feels like it. Milan Skriniar is usually good, but he was a disaster against Genoa on Saturday. Andrea Ranocchia makes me suffer. It’s pathetic to hear the San Siro crowd laughing every time he touches the ball. How can they play in these conditions? And why was Lisandro Lopez even signed?

“Unfortunately, the Inter jersey does not belong on Ranocchia and quite a few of his teammates too. Yet on Saturday I saw a great Diego Laxalt performance and he used to be on Inter’s books.

“The club talked about Arturo Vidal and Angel Di Maria, then signed Matias Vecino and Borja Valero… Financial Fair Play, fine, but money was spent on Geoffrey Kondogbia, Gabigol and Joao Mario.

“Suning have every right to say: We gave you money and you spent it like this?”
