Inter have started searching for replacements for Denzel Dumfries and are keen on picking up Tottenham’s Emerson Royal, reports suggest.
The Nerazzurri are in a delicate financial position and have accepted that they’ll need to sell a first team player in the coming months. After a few months of consideration, Inter have decided to try and shift Dumfries in January, hoping Chelsea or another interested club will pay around €40m for the Dutchman’s signature.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Inter have set their sights on Emerson Royal as a possible replacement for Dumfries. The 23-year-old Brazilian is struggling to win over the Spurs fans and may welcome the move in January, which would likely be a loan with some form of permanence clause attached.
The Nerazzurri were interested in the player back in the summer of 2021 but lost out to Barcelona, who went on to sell the full back to Tottenham two months later.
Tottenham coach Antonio Conte is a big fan of Alessandro Bastoni, having fond memories of the Italian from their time together in the Lombardy capital, and he’s still hoping for the defender to arrive in North London in the coming months.
