According to recent reports, Inter are still in contact with Lille defender Tiago Djalo over a potential move to San Siro, having previously plotted a move to sign him in recent transfer windows
As outlined by Calciomercato.com, Inter have been looking at Djalo over the course of the last year, but a cruciate ligament injury suffered in March ruled out a transfer in the summer window.
The 23-year-old is now, however, into the final year of his contract in Lille, meaning that Inter could potentially return with a low-cost offer in January, or wait for Djalo to become available as a free agent next summer.
Calciomercato reports that Inter have always remained in contact with the Portuguese centre-back, who is now reportedly nearing a recovery from his knee injury.
Tuesday’s report suggests that the Nerazzurri have already discussed potential financial terms and that an official agreement could be reached relatively easy if the move were to go ahead.
Inter are not the only interested party though, as Barcelona also have a reported admiration for Djalo.
While Inter feel they may have taken the appropriate steps thus far, an official agreement is still required for a transfer to go ahead.
