It was reported earlier today that a meeting between the player and President Florentino Perez has been delayed, though director Angel Sanchez has made it clear Modric won’t be allowed to go unless the Nerazzurri pay the €750m release clause.

According to this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport, there is already the basis of an agreement between Inter and Modric.

AS is in agreement, stating that the Beneamata are offering €10m per season, with the understanding he’ll get a big contract with Jiangsu Suning when he leaves.

That transfer would be easy to arrange, as both the Chinese and Italian club are owned by Suning Group.

Currently Modric earns around €6.5m per season, so they only way for Los Merengues to keep him is to significantly boost his salary.

Sky believes that the meeting with Perez will take place tomorrow, and Modric will urge the President to hold to a gentleman’s agreement to let him leave if he wants to.

Meanwhile, Tuttomercatoweb reports that Madrid are scouting around for potential replacements, with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic of Lazio and Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen potential candidates.
